Which Date Should You Enter?

- Estimated due date: Use the date supplied by your prenatal care team if you already have one.
- First day of your last menstrual period (LMP): The calculator applies the common 40-week dating convention to this date.
- Conception date: If you have an estimated conception date, the calculator uses it to build the same planning timeline.
These methods are calendar estimates. Cycle length, ovulation timing, assisted reproduction, ultrasound dating, and other individual factors can change how a pregnancy is dated. For IVF or another assisted-reproduction timeline, use the date and method your clinic recommends.
How Pregnancy Weeks Are Counted
Pregnancy dating conventionally starts from the first day of the last menstrual period, which is often about two weeks before conception. That is why the week count may sound higher than the time since conception.

Treat the Due Date as an Estimate
An estimated due date is better thought of as the center of a planning window than a guaranteed arrival date. If your care team updates it, regenerate the calendar with the new date and remove the older imported events so you do not end up with duplicates.
